Same Day Driver Improvement Certificates of Completion
A1 Driver provides online and in-person Driver Improvement Program (DIP) training for those ordered by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles or the Court to take an 8-hour Virginia Driver Improvement Program. Volunteers may also take the driver improvement program to earn 5 safe driving points on their Virginia driver’s license.
We offer both in-person instruction and online computer-based training providing students with scheduling flexibility to help them fulfill their requirements. For those who are required or prefer to take classroom instruction, our in-person driving improvement program provides attendees with eight hours of instruction to fulfill their requirements from the DMV or court system. Simply schedule an option from the calendar and complete your registration.
Our online training option is available to students that meet the eligibility requirements for taking an online course. The Virginia Driver Improvement Program (DIP) online course, allows students to take training at their own pace and on their own time schedule. Students are allowed to start and stop the program at their convenience as long as the full eight hours of training are completed.
We follow the National Safety Council defensive driving curriculum and students who successfully complete the A1 Driver Improvement Program instructor-led course receive same-day certification.

A1 DRIVER offers instructor-led safe driver training that fulfills requirements from the Virginia DMV or by request of the court. DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSES
For added convenience, A1 Driver offers online driver improvement programs through our accredited affiliate Driving University. This option provides a similar curriculum as in-person instruction with the flexibility for participants meeting the eligibility criteria, of completing the course at your own pace.
